Hyderabad: GHMC launched a home composting awareness drive under Swachh Survekshan 2025 in Begumpet, Malkajgiri, Secunderabad, Rajendranagar and Malakpet Circles. Officials said every household produced kitchen waste each day. They added that home composting could cut landfill pressure, reduce pollution and provide organic manure for gardens.
Teams said simple daily steps could help households make a big difference. They asked residents to separate wet waste every morning and start basic composting at home.
Community focus in Swachh Survekshan awareness
Officials urged residents to involve neighbours and join hands to keep local areas clean. They said wider support would lift the city’s score in Swachh Survekshan. They also noted that composting turned kitchen waste into useful manure and helped build greener homes.
GHMC asked citizens to support the drive and follow waste-management rules. Teams said steady participation could help Hyderabad move towards cleaner and more sustainable living. They added that the awareness work would continue through the survey period.
