Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka assured that tight security is in place for the upcoming friendly match featuring football legend Lionel Messi. The match will take place at Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad on December 13.
Thousands to attend Messi’s Hyderabad match
Fans from across India are expected to attend the event. Bhatti said Messi’s involvement in the Telangana Rising Global Summit has created massive excitement. On Sunday, he visited Uppal Stadium with Minister D. Sridhar Babu to oversee preparations.
Bhatti noted that Messi, a global icon, always receives high-level security. Hyderabad police, along with event organisers, have taken extra precautions for the visit.

Police, metro, and VIP logistics reviewed
Bhatti held review meetings with the Rachakonda and Hyderabad Police Commissioners. He also assessed logistical support from the Hyderabad Cricket Association.
He checked route arrangements for Messi, CM Revanth Reddy, and other dignitaries. Officials briefed him on crowd estimates, entry gate planning, parking areas, and transport support through Metro and RTC services.
Bhatti advised fans to arrive early to avoid delays during security checks. He said early seating would help ensure a smooth and safe experience for everyone.

The Telangana Rising Global Summit is drawing CEOs, global business leaders, and VIPs to Hyderabad. The added traffic has increased the need for strict coordination.
Additional DGP Vijay Kumar, Rachakonda CP Sudheer Babu, and Congress leaders Rohan Reddy and Shiva Sain Reddy also joined the security inspection.
