Hyderabad: The Telangana Food Safety Department on Tuesday organised FSSAI registration camps across 14 key vegetable markets in Hyderabad. The initiative aims to boost food hygiene and safety compliance among vendors.
The initiative, conducted under the directions of the Commissioner of Food Safety, aimed to facilitate Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) registration and licensing. It also focused on raising awareness on hygiene norms and sanitation within market premises.
Officials confirmed that a total of 926 vendors submitted applications for FSSAI registration or licences during the day-long drive.
Second round of registration on December 30
The camps were held at markets in Kushaiguda, Uppal, Saroornagar, NTR Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Madannapet, Mir Alam Mandi, Owaisi, Monda, Mettuguda, Erragadda, Gudimalkapur, Lingampally, and JNTU.
The department announced that another round of registration will take place at the same locations on December 30, 2025. This second round is to accommodate vendors who missed the initial opportunity.
Officials said the campaign reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring safe food practices. It also shows an effort for improved public health across Hyderabad’s retail markets.
