Fish prasadam security reviewed at Nampally ground

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar inspected Fish prasadam security arrangements at Nampally Exhibition Ground on Monday before the distribution programme began at 9 pm.

He reviewed queue lines, counters and the mini command control centre. Moreover, he issued instructions to police personnel deployed at the venue.

Around 25,000 people from different parts of the country had already reached the ground for the prasadam. Therefore, police deployed nearly 1,000 personnel to ensure peaceful distribution.

Fish prasadam security includes crime teams

Sajjanar said crime teams, SHE Teams and Task Force staff were posted to prevent thefts and untoward incidents. Also, announcements were arranged in Telugu, Odia, Kannada, Marathi and Gujarati through the police command control room.

Police made traffic changes to avoid inconvenience to local commuters. In addition, medical teams and five ambulances were kept ready for emergencies.

The commissioner said priority was being given to people from other states on Monday night. However, he requested local residents to visit on Tuesday due to heavy rush.

He said enough fish prasadam was available and asked people not to believe rumours. He also appealed to the public to remain calm and cooperate with the state government and police.

Additional CP Law and Order Tafseer Iqbal, Joint CP Traffic D Joel Davis, DCP CAR Headquarters R Venkateshwarlu, Golconda DCP Chandra Mohan and Traffic DCP Kajal were present.
