Hyderabad: BJP MP Etela Rajender on Friday claimed that neither the Congress nor BRS could deliver development or funding to villages, urging voters to support BJP-backed candidates in the upcoming local body elections.
Etela promises full support to village workers in local polls
Speaking to reporters at his residence in Kamalapur, Hanumakonda district, Etela said he would campaign personally for BJP candidates who had worked for him during MLA and MP elections. He promised to continue working daily for grassroots party workers and stated that their efforts would not go unrecognised.
“Congress, BRS will bring zero rupees to villages”
Etela warned that electing Congress or BRS candidates in local elections would yield no results for rural development. He criticised both parties as identical in failure and claimed they were facing public resentment across Telangana. “They bring nothing but false promises. There is no state-level funding for villages under their rule,” he said.
In contrast, he asserted that the BJP-led central government was actively funding village panchayats for roads, drainage, and street lighting works. He pledged to ensure the continued flow of such central funds to develop villages and to take responsibility for driving that growth.
BJP aiming for unity, clean fights in local body contests
Etela said the party was working to avoid multiple BJP candidates contesting from the same village and would strive for consensus wherever possible. He called on villagers to support and bless BJP-backed nominees, emphasising that the party alone could ensure regular panchayat salaries and infrastructure upgrades.
