Dr. M. Ramesh takes charge as Cyberabad Police Commissioner

Hyderabad: Dr. M. Ramesh takes charge as the new Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, on Tuesday. Dr. M. Ramesh, IPS, a 2005-batch officer, formally took charge, succeeding Avinash Mohanty, marking a key leadership transition in the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate. As the Commissioner of Police, Dr. Ramesh is expected to bring new reforms.

Before this, Dr. Ramesh served as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Provisioning and Logistics. He also held additional charge of IGP, Police Transport Organization. The experience gained in these roles will aid him significantly in his new position as Commissioner of Police.

Focus on law, traffic safety, and citizen-centric policing

After assuming charge, Dr. Ramesh said the Cyberabad Police would uphold the rule of law and ensure fair, transparent, and professional policing. Under his leadership as Commissioner of Police, he stressed the need for people-centric approaches in law enforcement. He also reaffirmed that maintaining law and order would remain the department’s top priority.

He also highlighted traffic regulation as a major focus area. The Commissioner of Police directed officials to conduct regular drunk driving checks and take proactive steps to improve traffic flow and road safety.

Ahead of New Year celebrations, Dr. Ramesh issued clear guidelines to ensure safe, incident-free festivities. He encouraged the police force to remain open to citizen feedback and ensure community-responsive policing at all levels.
