CPI leader urges Left unity to counter BJP and capitalist forces

Hyderabad: Senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Chada Venkat Reddy on Sunday urged all Left parties to unite against the religious and capitalist forces led by the BJP. He made this call while addressing a public meeting during the CPI’s bus yatra, which passed through several mandals in Godavari Khani and Peddapalli districts.

The yatra is part of the CPI’s mobilisation drive for its centenary celebrations, scheduled for December 26 in Khammam. CPI Peddapalli District Secretary Tandra Sadanand chaired the meeting.

Venkat Reddy called on all red-flag groups to join forces. According to him, a united Left is necessary to counter the BJP-led central government. He emphasised that the CPI, now in its 100th year, has consistently fought for the rights of workers, farmers, and the poor people.

“Only CPI has the history of armed peasant struggles in Telangana that helped end British rule and the Nizam monarchy,” he said.

He accused the BJP government of aligning with corporate interests and warned that such policies were harming public welfare. Therefore, he said, all democratic and Left forces must work together to resist the BJP’s influence.

The CPI will mark its centenary with a grand public meeting in Khammam, which leaders described as the “gateway of movements.” CPI Assistant Secretary Takkalpalli Srinivasa Rao, State Secretary Kalvena Shankar, and other leaders from cultural and student wings also joined the campaign.
