Congress revamps Hyderabad DCC, launches online portal for applicants

Hyderabad: The Congress party overhauled its Hyderabad District Congress Committee (DCC) with a 45-member structure and launched an online portal to streamline candidate selection.

The revamped DCC will span five Assembly constituencies Bahadurpura, Chandrayangutta, Charminar, Malakpet, and Yakutpura across ten blocks. The new setup includes one treasurer, five spokespersons, ten vice presidents, five general secretaries, nine secretaries, and fifteen executive committee members.

Congress targets grassroots revival through digital outreach

In addition, the party plans to appoint 44 division presidents to strengthen its grassroots network. This restructuring aligns with Congress’s broader nationwide strategy to rebuild its organisational framework.

Speaking to the media, Hyderabad DCC President Syed Khalid Saifullah said the initiative aims to deepen local engagement. “Now the focus is entirely on rebuilding the organisation. We want a team that is committed, dynamic, and aligned with Congress values,” he said.

To widen participation, Congress launched an online portal https://join.hyderabadcongress.in/dcc for candidates. The application window will remain open until January 4. Moreover, party members have been encouraged to apply and share the link to ensure broader representation.

Selections will follow a merit-based approach, with emphasis on dedication and long-term loyalty to Congress principles. Furthermore, AICC observers Mohammad Javeed and Subramanyam, who are supervising the reconstitution process, stressed the need for fair representation. They recommended reserving 20–25% of posts for women, along with proper inclusion of youth, SC, ST, BC, and minority communities.
