Hyderabad: The Telangana Youth Congress on Sunday filed a police complaint against Ratan Ranjan and others for allegedly spreading false and malicious information about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in connection with a sanitary pad distribution programme for poor women in Bihar.
The initiative was launched to raise awareness of menstrual hygiene among women living in rural parts of Bihar, Congress leaders said. Telangana Youth Congress president Jakkidi Shiva Charan Reddy led a delegation to submit a complaint at Abids to ACP Praveen Kumar, demanding action against those accused of airing derogatory content targeting Indian women.
Youth Congress “Super Shakti She” state coordinator Vidya Reddy, Youth Congress state vice-president Deepak Prajna, Khairatabad district Youth Congress president Haridhar, state general secretaries Narala Nihar, Gurram Shyam Charan Reddy, Yeramala Ram Reddy, Suresh, Khammam district president Vijandla Sai, and Khairatabad district vice-president Paramesh also participated.
The FIR was registered under relevant sections following their representation.
