Congress, BRS are corrupt and betrayed Telangana: Kishan Reddy

Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy has accused both Congress and the BRS of looting Telangana and betraying the public through false promises and political opportunism. He launched the attack during a maha dharna organised by the BJP at Indira Park on Sunday.

Challenges CM Revanth Reddy to debate promises

Reddy challenged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to a face-to-face debate. He demanded clarity on how many poll promises the Congress had fulfilled since coming to power in 2023.

Blaming the BRS for Telangana’s financial crisis, he said the KCR-led government had pushed a once-surplus state deep into debt. He described the previous regime as a family-run dictatorship marred by scams and misgovernance.

Congress accused of repeating BRS tactics

Turning his criticism to the ruling Congress, Reddy said it had embraced the same politics of defection it once condemned. He recalled that during the YSR era, TRS MLAs defected to Congress, and later, Congress MLAs joined BRS under KCR’s leadership.

“Now BRS MLAs are flocking to Congress. This is nothing but a continuation of betrayal,” he said. “Both parties have made a mockery of political ethics in Telangana.”

Kishan Reddy demanded that Revanth Reddy explain what real change his government has brought. He asked whether the chief minister’s promises were just empty campaign slogans.
