Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the government has prioritised education and irrigation to drive long-term development across the state. He made the statement on Saturday after laying the foundation stone for the IIT campus in Mahabubnagar.
Speaking to students at the event, the Chief Minister said his government had already launched new educational institutions and fast-tracked irrigation projects in the region.
CM urges students to focus on language and commitment
Revanth Reddy recalled his political journey from a remote village in Achampet to becoming Chief Minister in just 17 years without holding a ministerial position. He expressed gratitude to the people of Mahabubnagar for their trust, noting he is the first Chief Minister from the district since Burgula Ramakrishna Rao.
Urging students to develop language skills and academic discipline, he said, “Education provides solutions to every problem. Perseverance, hard work, and determination are key to success.”
He announced the construction of a ₹200 crore Young India Integrated Residential School and confirmed that various types of educational institutions are being sanctioned for the district. “Opportunities arise through education. But education without commitment is meaningless,” he added.
Revanth Reddy also emphasised that respect in society comes through learning. To support aspirants of civil services, the government is offering financial aid. He further stated that construction of the IIIT Mahabubnagar building would be completed within a year.
Due to the current lack of available land, the government is focusing on improving infrastructure instead of land distribution. “Earlier, we gave land to the landless, Dalits, and tribals. But today, we don’t have land even for housing plots,” he said.
