Centre closely monitoring diversion of central funds by state, says Bandi Sanjay

Hyderabad: Union Minister Bandi Sanjay said the Centre had started strict monitoring of central funds diversion by the Telangana government. He warned that any misuse of central allocations would draw firm action. The Minister accused the former BRS regime of diverting funds meant for development projects.

Centre increases checks on central funds diversion

During the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Karimnagar and Rajanna Sircilla districts on Wednesday, Bandi Sanjay explained that the Centre was coordinating with all states to stop fund misuse. He said the decision came after earlier instances of diversion under previous administrations.

He urged officials to view the Centre and the State as “two eyes of development.” “If one eye remains closed, development suffers,” he stated. He reminded officers that both governments design welfare schemes for people’s benefit and that effective implementation depends on their commitment.

Officials must prioritise people, not politics

Bandi Sanjay asserted that only sincere officials could make public programmes successful. He cautioned them against working for political leaders or personal promotions, saying such attitudes hinder progress. Instead, he advised them to focus entirely on public service and on visible outcomes in the field.

The Minister said he had brought several central projects to Karimnagar since becoming MP. He also mentioned that under CSR funds, bicycles had been given to girl students in his constituency to support their education and mobility.
