Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Police conducted a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Chatrinaka on Tuesday evening to curb illegal liquor sales and verify suspicious persons and vehicles. Police launched the operation after receiving information about the alleged illegal sale of liquor in the Mekala Mandi area.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Charminar Zone, Kiran Khare, IPS, supervised the operation. Meanwhile, the drive involved two ACPs, nine Circle Inspectors, 13 Sub-Inspectors and 159 police personnel. Officers formed search, cut-off, lifting and holding teams to cover the locality.
CASO in Chatrinaka targets illegal liquor trade
During the operation, police conducted house-to-house searches and inspected suspected premises. They also verified suspicious persons and checked vehicles across the area.
As a result, police seized 14 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 105 liquor bottles allegedly meant for illegal sale. Police said they would initiate legal action against those involved.
Meanwhile, officers impounded 25 two-wheelers without valid documents for further verification. In addition, they seized two LPG cylinders suspected to have been stored without proper authorisation.
Further, police identified four suspects and verified their backgrounds as part of the operation. Officials said they would take legal action wherever they found violations.
Finally, the Charminar Zonal Police said they would continue conducting CASO in Chatrinaka and similar operations to prevent crime and strengthen public safety.
