Hyderabad: BJP state president Ramachander Rao said the Jubilee Hills bypoll would be a straight fight between the BJP and AIMIM. He reviewed the party’s poll strategy at the BJP state office in Hyderabad on Monday.
Along with Union Minister Kishan Reddy, Rao met division in-charges and key leaders. They discussed booth-level mobilisation and assigned specific campaign duties to senior party members. Moreover, both leaders directed district units to intensify voter outreach before polling day.
Ramachander Rao Jubilee Hills bypoll strategy meet strengthens BJP’s plan
During the meeting, Ramachander Rao said voters must support the BJP if they truly want to stop AIMIM’s expansion in Hyderabad. “If Jubilee Hills does not vote for the BJP, AIMIM will gain at least eight seats,” he warned.
He pointed out that BJP’s support in Jubilee Hills had increased significantly in recent weeks. Furthermore, he said people now believed that only BJP could confront AIMIM’s influence across the city. Rao urged voters to make this by-election the first step toward BJP’s success in the 2028 Telangana Assembly elections.
In addition, he criticised both BRS and Congress for neglecting local issues. “Neither party delivered on development,” he said. “People are now demanding results, not excuses.”
Jubilee Hills bypoll scheduled for November 11
The by-election follows the sudden death of MLA Maganti Gopinath. The Election Commission announced that voting will take place on November 11, while results will be declared on November 14.
BJP nominated Lankala Deepak Reddy as its candidate. Congress chose Naveen Yadav, and BRS fielded Maganti Sunitha Gopinath. Meanwhile, all three candidates began intense campaigning across the constituency.
Rao said BJP’s victory in Jubilee Hills would mark the beginning of a major political shift in Telangana. “Our win here will show that people trust the BJP’s vision,” he said.
