Micro observers trained to ensure fair polling in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Tuesday conducted a focused training session for micro observers to strengthen polling day transparency and efficiency.

District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan, along with General Observer Ranjit Kumar Singh, oversaw the session at the GHMC Head Office. The training covered all key poll-day tasks such as mock poll checks, polling station readiness, voter identification, sealing of machines, voting secrecy, and handling complaints.

Officials stressed the need for precise and unbiased reporting from micro observers. They noted that the credibility of elections relies heavily on the accuracy of these field reports.

“Micro observers play a key role in polling day operations by acting as the eyes and ears of the Election Commission,” Karnan said. “They ensure every stage of polling follows established norms.”

General Observer Singh advised trainees to remain alert, impartial, and consistent while performing their duties.
