Bhavani Nagar police seize 2.3 kg ganja, arrest two

Hyderabad: Bhavani Nagar police arrested two alleged ganja peddlers and seized 2.334 kg of ganja during a joint operation with the Charminar Zone Task Force near Talabkatta.

Police said the accused had allegedly brought the contraband from Nagpur to sell it in Hyderabad’s Old City. The seized material included ganja worth about ₹54,900, ₹6,000 in cash, a Honda Activa without a registration plate, two mobile phones, five small packets of ganja and packaging material.

Furthermore, investigators have launched efforts to trace the supplier and identify others linked to the alleged drug network. Police said further investigation is underway to establish the complete supply chain.

The police booked both accused under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act and produced them before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody.

Police said one of the accused is a rowdy-sheeter with multiple criminal cases. The other accused has previously faced cases under the NDPS Act.
