Hyderabad: Narayanguda police solved a house theft case involving ₹7.7 lakh within 36 hours and arrested a 19-year-old suspect, recovering the entire stolen cash.
Police identified the accused as Deepesh Khati, a carpenter from Old Bowenpally. Investigators recovered the full amount of ₹7,70,000 from his residence after technical tracking and field investigation.

According to police, complainant Amit Agarwal had kept ₹7.7 lakh in his wife’s handbags inside a wooden almirah at their residence, which has been under renovation since December 2025.
On June 30, his wife found the cash intact in the morning. However, she left the first-floor bedroom unlocked while going for an evening walk as renovation work continued in the house. Later that night, the family discovered that the cash had gone missing and lodged a complaint after searching the premises.
Furthermore, investigators examined the crime scene, verified CCTV footage and questioned workers engaged in the renovation. Acting on technical intelligence, the police apprehended the accused on July 3 at about 10.20 am and recovered the entire stolen amount from his room in Bowenpally.
Detective Inspector B. Abhilash led the investigation with the assistance of Sub-Inspector Ch. Nagaraju, police constables K. Abhilash and P. Pavan Kumar. ACP M. Mattaiah supervised the operation.
