Attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh linked to SIR politics: Hanumantha Rao

Hyderabad: Attacks on Hindus continued in Bangladesh with the killing of another Hindu man, intensifying concerns in India over minority safety in the neighbouring country.

National media reported that Bajendra Biswas, 42, worked as a security guard at a factory in the Mymensingh district. His co-worker shot him dead, police sources said. The killing came soon after the murders of Hindu youths Deepu Chandra Das and Amrit Mondal.

As a result, the repeated Attacks on Hindus triggered sharp reactions across India. Political leaders and civil groups expressed alarm over the continuing violence.

Attacks on Hindus linked to SIR, says Hanumantha Rao

Meanwhile, senior Telangana Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao linked the developments in Bangladesh to India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.

Speaking to a news agency, Hanumantha Rao questioned who was responsible for the unrest. He alleged that the SIR process had led to tensions spilling across the border. Moreover, he claimed that two individuals were fuelling the situation for political gain.

He urged the public to consider how long such developments would continue. At the same time, he rejected claims that projected India as a Hindu nation. Instead, he stressed that India remained a secular country.

His remarks came amid growing political debate over regional stability. They also followed rising concern over the safety of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.
