Hyderabad: Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy led the Assembly and Council celebrations marking Telangana State Formation Day by hoisting the national flag at the legislature premises in Hyderabad.
At the Assembly premises, Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar unfurled the national flag as part of the celebrations. Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, MLAs, MLCs and Assembly staff attended the programme.
Participants recalled the formation of Telangana and reiterated their commitment to the state’s development and welfare. They also paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the statehood movement.
Assembly and Council celebrations feature flag-hoisting ceremonies
Meanwhile, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy hoisted the national flag during the programme at the Telangana Legislative Council premises.
Government Whip Addanki Dayakar, MLCs Balmuri Venkat, M. Kodandaram and Vijayashanthi attended the event. In addition, several public representatives participated in the programme.
Government offices, educational institutions and various organisations across Telangana also organised State Formation Day celebrations.
