Hyderabad: The Telangana government’s ‘Telangana Rising Global Summit’ drew major investment commitments as Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn prepared to establish a world-class film city in Future City on Hyderabad’s outskirts. He planned to sign the MoU during the summit scheduled for December 8 and 9.
Officials said this would be the second such project in the Bharat Future City cluster. The state had earlier allotted land to actor Salman Khan for another film city. The summit aimed to pull investments into entertainment and tourism, and the Devgn proposal supported that goal. It also aligned with the government’s target of building a USD 3 trillion state economy.
Major investments follow the film city in the Future City plan
The announcement of the film city in Future City coincided with other large proposals. Reliance Group expressed interest in new ventures in Telangana. The company showed readiness to create the Vantara animal rescue centre, a wildlife conservatory and a night safari. It may locate the project either in the 15,000-acre forest block inside Future City or in the undivided Mahbubnagar district. Officials believed the initiative would strengthen tourism.
Foodlink F&B Holdings, known for luxury catering services, planned to build three-star-category hotels in Future City. The firm proposed an investment of ₹3,000 crore and intended to sign its MoU during the summit. Officials viewed these commitments as signs of broader progress under ‘Telangana Rising Vision 2047.’
The government projected further investment across entertainment, tourism and hospitality. It is believed the combined projects would help turn Future City into a major economic hub. As a result, the proposal for a world-class film city in Future City emerged as a central highlight of the summit.
