Telangana signs MoU with Vantara for new world-class zoo

Hyderabad: Telangana advanced its international zoo project by signing an MoU with Vantara, the wildlife conservation initiative led by Mukesh Ambani. The State selected the proposed fourth city for the zoo location. Moreover, officials said the partnership will bring global design inputs, technical expertise and best practices for animal care, welfare and enclosure standards. Vantara already follows advanced rehabilitation and scientific management systems, and the State aims to adapt these models for the new project.

The government sought Vantara’s guidance to strengthen every stage of planning. Consequently, the MoU covers night-safari design, safety protocols and eco-themed park development. It also outlines strategic support for a public–private partnership model. Furthermore, Vantara will assist with modern enclosure planning and improved visitor experiences, ensuring that the zoo aligns with international expectations.

Officials highlight Asia-level ambition as the Chief Minister oversees the signing

Authorities stated that Telangana wants the new zoo to emerge as a benchmark for India and Asia. Therefore, they believe the project will boost ecological balance and expand conservation work across the State. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy oversaw the signing ceremony and encouraged continuous collaboration. Forest Principal Secretary Ahmed Nadeem, PCCF Dr C. Suvarna and TDF Managing Director Sunita Bhagavat also participated.

The Chief Minister praised Vantara’s team for its modern care systems and advanced infrastructure. Additionally, he urged the organisation to reflect the same standards in Telangana’s upcoming zoo. He promised full State support for rapid progress and confirmed that he would visit the Vantara campus later this month. Officials noted that the MoU now provides a clear roadmap for building a world-class zoo in Telangana.
