AIOBCSA supports Hanumantha Rao hunger strike for caste census

Hyderabad: The All India OBC Students Association (AIOBCSA) on Friday extended support to the Hanumantha Rao hunger strike demanding a national-level caste census and justice for OBC communities.

Former MP and Telangana Government adviser on BC Welfare V. Hanumantha Rao launched the hunger strike seeking equitable representation and stronger welfare measures for backward communities across the country.

In a statement, AIOBCSA said it firmly supported the democratic struggle for social justice, evidence-based policymaking and fair implementation of constitutional safeguards.

The organisation said a comprehensive caste census was necessary to assess the real socio-economic conditions of OBC communities.

Hanumantha Rao hunger strike receives student support

AIOBCSA leaders personally met Hanumantha Rao and conveyed solidarity during the protest.

National Adviser Alla Ramakrishna, National Secretary and HCU Unit President Lakshminarasaiah alias Lucky, Telangana Working President Ganesh Goud and OU Vice President Shiva Yadav attended the programme.

They also submitted a solidarity letter on behalf of the organisation.

The student body said the caste census would help governments frame policies based on accurate social and economic data.

AIOBCSA stated that a national caste census was essential for ensuring equitable representation for marginalised communities.

The organisation said proper data collection would strengthen welfare implementation and improve policy decisions affecting OBC communities.

It reiterated support for Hanumantha Rao’s demand and described the movement as an important democratic struggle for social justice.
