Hyderabad: Voters in the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election can cast their vote using any of 12 alternative photo ID cards, even without an EPIC (voter ID) card, said GHMC Commissioner and District Election Officer RV Karnan.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Karnan confirmed that voters whose names appear on the electoral roll will be allowed to vote using other government-approved photo identification cards.
Accepted documents include:
- Aadhaar card
- Employment Guarantee Job Card
- Bank or Post Office passbook with photo
- Health Insurance Smart Card or Ayushman Bharat Health Card
- Driving Licence
- PAN Card
- Smart Card under National Population Register (NPR)
- Indian Passport
- Pension documents with photograph
- Employee ID from government, PSUs, or public limited companies
- Official ID cards of MPs, MLAs, MLCs
- Unique Disability ID (UDID) card
Karnan emphasized, “If your name is on the voter list but you don’t have a voter ID, you can still vote using any of these 12 accepted photo IDs.”
The by-election for the Jubilee Hills constituency is scheduled for November 11.
