12 photo IDs valid for voting in Jubilee Hills bypoll: RV Karnan

Hyderabad: Voters in the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election can cast their vote using any of 12 alternative photo ID cards, even without an EPIC (voter ID) card, said GHMC Commissioner and District Election Officer RV Karnan.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Karnan confirmed that voters whose names appear on the electoral roll will be allowed to vote using other government-approved photo identification cards.

Accepted documents include:

  1. Aadhaar card
  2. Employment Guarantee Job Card
  3. Bank or Post Office passbook with photo
  4. Health Insurance Smart Card or Ayushman Bharat Health Card
  5. Driving Licence
  6. PAN Card
  7. Smart Card under National Population Register (NPR)
  8. Indian Passport
  9. Pension documents with photograph
  10. Employee ID from government, PSUs, or public limited companies
  11. Official ID cards of MPs, MLAs, MLCs
  12. Unique Disability ID (UDID) card

Karnan emphasized, “If your name is on the voter list but you don’t have a voter ID, you can still vote using any of these 12 accepted photo IDs.”

The by-election for the Jubilee Hills constituency is scheduled for November 11.
