Weed oil racket busted in Hyderabad, separate ganja haul at Tandur station

Hyderabad: In two separate drug busts, police teams seized ganja oil and dry marijuana in Hyderabad and Tandur, arresting three individuals and launching a search for two more.

In the first case, a team led by Hyderabad Enforcement CI Chandrasekhar Goud intercepted two men near Sikh Village crossroads in Secunderabad and seized 91 grams of ganja oil. The contraband, typically applied to cigarettes for intoxication, is valued at ₹2 lakh.

Police also seized two motorcycles and two mobile phones. The arrested were identified as Raju of Kukatpally and Md. Soyab of Musheerabad. Two others, Kalyan Banu and Shaik Imran, are absconding.

The operation was carried out based on specific intelligence. Along with CI Chandrasekhar Goud, SI Srinivas, Head Constable Mallikharjun Reddy, and constable Karan were involved in the seizure.

In a separate case, Tandur police arrested a youth for possession of 1.2 kg of dry ganja. DSP Balakrishna Reddy and CI Santosh Kumar said the accused, Lal Mohammad from Rasnam village of Yalal mandal, was picked up at the Tandur railway station after behaving suspiciously.

His hand bag was searched and found to contain the contraband. Police took him into custody and produced him in court.
