Hyderabad: Labour and Mines Minister G Vivek Venkatswamy attended the concluding ceremony of the Kaka Venkatswamy Memorial Inter-District Cricket Tournament in Karimnagar.
The minister participated in the event along with Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Congress party whip Adi Srinivas, and other party leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Vivek Venkatswamy said the tournament aimed to promote sports culture and discipline among youth. He said the event honoured the late Kaka Venkatswamy, who actively encouraged sporting activities.

The minister said such tournaments helped identify young talent and prepare players for higher-level competitions. He added that the event also supported the growth of sports infrastructure at the district level.
Speaking on the occasion, Ponnam Prabhakar said Karimnagar took pride in hosting the memorial tournament. He expressed confidence that the competition would help discover new sporting talent among youngsters.
As part of the ceremony, the ministers released balloons and took part in a symbolic bowling session. Players from participating teams and office-bearers of cricket associations also attended the programme.
