Vikarabad Welfare School Principal assaults girls, hurls abuse

HYDERABAD: A disturbing incident has come to light from the Kottagudem Social Welfare Girls Residential School and College in Vikarabad, where the principal has been accused of physically assaulting students and using abusive language.

The principal, already under scrutiny following an earlier incident in which a student attempted suicide by jumping from the school building last month, has once again drawn public attention. In the latest episode, the principal allegedly slapped a girl multiple times after confronting her and others about stepping out of the premises without permission.

According to sources, the principal expressed anger by demanding to know why the girls had left the campus. When they tried to explain that they had made a mistake, the principal reportedly lost control, repeatedly slapping one of the students. Eyewitnesses claim the principal used derogatory and obscene language, including calling one girl a “thief” with offensive slurs, and went on to insult the students’ parents as well.

Students allege this is not an isolated incident. They claim that not only the principal, but also some teachers have a pattern of physical intimidation, yet students are afraid to speak out due to fear of repercussions. “They ensure we don’t talk about these incidents outside,” one student reportedly said.

Despite Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad reprimanding the principal over last month’s suicide attempt case, students and sources say there has been no change in the principal’s or staff’s behaviour.

The repeated nature of such incidents has sparked serious concern among parents, students, and the public, prompting calls for urgent intervention and a thorough investigation into the administration of the institution.
