Hyderabad: Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Fisheries, Youth Services and Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari inspected the Fish Canteen at the State Fisheries Department headquarters in Masab Tank on Friday. He directed officials to maintain quality standards and provide hygienic, nutritious food to the public.
The minister visited the Fisheries Department headquarters for the first time after assuming office. Fisheries Director Nikhila, Additional Director Muralikrishna and other department officials received him.
During his visit, Vakiti Srihari reviewed the canteen’s management, cleanliness and services. He also enquired about the menu and the range of fish dishes available for customers.
Fish Canteen services to be expanded
The minister said fish are a rich source of protein and nutrients. He urged people to include more fish in their diet to improve their health.
Vakiti Srihari instructed officials not to compromise on food quality or hygiene. Further, he directed them to make Fish Canteen services accessible to more people across the state.
He also asked the department to modernise the canteen with improved facilities. The minister said the objective was to provide better services and quality food to visitors.
