Hyderabad: Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy expressed grief over the death of senior Congress leader Gurram Venkata Reddy and described it as an irreparable loss to the party.
Gurram Venkata Reddy, a former MPTC member, belonged to Ganugabanda village in Garidepalli mandal of Huzurnagar constituency in Suryapet district.
The minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family. He said the death of Venkata Reddy, whom he described as a longtime friend, well-wisher and close associate, was deeply painful.
Gurram Venkata Reddy rendered valuable service to Congress
Uttam Kumar Reddy assured the family of his continued support during the difficult period. He also prayed for the departed leader’s soul to rest in peace.
The minister said Venkata Reddy made significant contributions to the Congress party over several decades. He recalled that the senior leader always worked selflessly for the resolution of public issues.
According to Uttam Kumar Reddy, Venkata Reddy served as Education Committee chairman and later as an MPTC member. He also played an important role in the development of his village.
The minister said the senior Congress leader worked tirelessly to strengthen the party at the village and mandal levels. He added that the services rendered by Venkata Reddy would remain unforgettable.
