Hyderabad: President Droupadi Murmu on Friday launched the second edition of Udyan Utsav. The nine-day festival will run from January 3 to 11, 2026, at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bollarum. It will showcase the rich biodiversity, heritage, and culture of the President’s winter retreat.
Visitors can explore floral displays and agriculture-themed exhibits. Moreover, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) will sell fresh farm and horticulture products directly to the public.
Focus on youth, learning, and innovation
Udyan Utsav-II will include interactive sessions for school and college students. Topics will cover nutrition, health, and career paths in agriculture, horticulture, and allied sectors. These sessions aim to promote awareness among youth and encourage rural entrepreneurship.
In addition, startups and farmers will present their innovations. This will offer a valuable platform for learning and knowledge exchange between visitors and agri-sector professionals.
The exhibition will be open daily from 10 am to 8 pm. Entry is free for all.
As part of the launch, the President released Flora of Rashtrapati Nilayam. The book documents the rich plant life found on the campus.
Telangana leaders attend launch ceremony
Several officials joined the event, including Telangana Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka, Joint Secretary Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, and the Director General of MANAGE.
Cyberabad Traffic Police issued a travel advisory ahead of the President’s movement on Saturday, December 20. Traffic congestion is expected between 3 pm and 7 pm.
President Murmu will travel from Rashtrapati Nilayam to Brahma Kumaris in Gachibowli. The affected junctions include Gachibowli, IIIT, and ITC Kohinoor. Congested routes will include Road No. 45 Cable Bridge, IKEA Flyover, Orbit Road, Deloitte Junction, Indira Nagar, and Pullela Gopichand Academy Road.
Authorities urge motorists to avoid these stretches, take alternative roads, and plan trips in advance. Police also requested full cooperation from the public to maintain smooth traffic flow.
