Hyderabad: Two young men were killed in a Lalapeta car accident under Lalaguda police station limits on Sunday after their vehicle hit a road divider at high speed. Two others travelling in the same car sustained injuries and were hospitalised.
The victims were identified as Harshit Reddy (22) from Malkajgiri and Shivamani (23) from Chengicherla. The crash occurred when the four friends were heading to Tarnaka from Keesara to have breakfast. The accident brought traffic to a halt in Lalapeta until police cleared the damaged vehicle from the road.
Local residents alerted authorities immediately after the incident. Police reached the scene and launched rescue efforts. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital and are currently undergoing treatment.
A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident.
