Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shobhan Reddy on Tuesday toured several localities in Tarnaka division under the Basti Baata programme. The visit aimed to assess civic conditions and gather resident feedback. During interactions, residents repeatedly raised concerns over severe drainage issues in Tarnaka, demanding urgent intervention.
She visited Vinoba Nagar, Siripur Nagar Colony, and Lalapet. In Vinoba Nagar, locals highlighted long-standing drainage complaints. Responding to them, the Deputy Mayor ordered officials to start immediate repairs of roads and drainage lines. She also emphasized that persistent drainage issues in Tarnaka must be addressed without delay.
Drainage, infrastructure works to be fast-tracked
At Siripur Nagar Colony, she inspected the community hall and instructed officials to allocate GHMC funds to complete pending development. Moreover, she said the hall should be made ready for public meetings and social functions as soon as inspections are completed.
In addition, she reviewed nala desilting and widening works. She directed officials to finish the projects efficiently while avoiding inconvenience to the public. Stressing the need for lasting infrastructure upgrades, she urged swift action on all unresolved civic issues in the division.
Addressing residents, Srilatha Shobhan Reddy said their concerns would be treated with priority. She reiterated her commitment to making Tarnaka a model for urban development by resolving the area’s drainage issues comprehensively.
