Two held with 7.45 grams of MDMA in Attapur, supplier absconding

Hyderabad: Attapur police arrested two persons on Thursday after they intercepted a red Maruti Brezza near Pillar No. 242 on PVNR Expressway. They found 7.45 grams of MDMA inside the vehicle, marking it as a significant seizure in the Attapur area. The suspects were allegedly attempting to sell the synthetic drug when caught.

Sub-Inspector P. Parvathi received a tip-off around 10:00 am about two men transporting narcotics from Suleman Nagar. She quickly informed her superiors and filed a diary entry. Then, she formed a team including panch witnesses and Clues personnel to act on the information related to the MDMA seizure in Attapur.

By 10:50 am, the police team located the suspect vehicle near a function hall. They detained the two occupants—Anwar Hussain and Burra Sampath—and conducted a search. Inside the front cup holder, they found a zip-lock pouch containing a white substance. In addition, they found a weighing machine and a Mozo rolling paper box, further strengthening the case regarding the Attapur MDMA seizure.

On interrogation, the suspects admitted they had purchased 8 grams of MDMA for ₹25,000 from Charan. Charan is a Bengaluru-based associate of Burra Sampath. They confessed they were on their way to sell the drug locally, directly connecting their actions to the MDMA seizure incident in Attapur. Although the original quantity was 8 grams, police confirmed that 7.45 grams remained in the packet at the time of seizure.

In addition to the contraband, police seized the red Maruti Brezza (TS13EV30171), three mobile phones, a weighing machine, and other items. Moreover, this case highlighted law enforcement’s vigilance in seizing MDMA at Attapur. Furthermore, Clues personnel recorded the entire seizure process through audio-visual means.

After completing formalities, police deposited the seized items at the Malkhana. They booked the case under Cr. No. 45/2026 at Attapur Police Station for offences under Sections 8(c) read with 21 and 22(b) of the NDPS Act. This case stands out as the latest example of an MDMA seizure at Attapur.

Meanwhile, efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the absconding supplier, Charan, in Bengaluru, who is being closely linked to this Attapur MDMA seizure.
