Tummala reviews Yathalakunta tunnel construction works

Hyderabad: State Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Monday inspected the ongoing Yathalakunta tunnel construction works in Sathupalli mandal of Khammam district.

During the visit, the minister reviewed technical aspects, work progress and quality standards related to the Yathalakunta tunnel construction project.

He directed officials to ensure that the works progressed quickly and were completed within the stipulated deadline.

According to the minister, completion of the tunnel project would improve irrigation facilities in surrounding areas and provide major benefits to farmers.

He stated that development of irrigation resources in agriculture-based regions remained one of the government’s priorities.

Tummala Nageswara Rao said the government was implementing large-scale irrigation projects keeping farmers’ requirements in view.

Yathalakunta tunnel construction works reviewed by minister

During the inspection, the minister held a review meeting with engineering officials at the project site.

He instructed officials not to compromise on construction quality under any circumstances.

The minister also stressed that every rupee of public money should benefit people effectively without wastage.

He reviewed the quality of construction materials being used for the tunnel works and advised officials to adopt modern technologies wherever necessary.

Jare Adinarayana participated in the programme and explained local irrigation requirements, development priorities and public issues to the minister.

He said the government remained committed to improving irrigation, roads and infrastructure facilities in the Aswaraopeta constituency.

According to him, people in rural areas were welcoming the government’s development initiatives positively.

Yathalakunta tunnel construction expected to aid farmers

District officials briefed the minister about completed works, pending stages and technical challenges related to the tunnel project.

Officials informed him that they were deploying additional machinery to speed up construction activities.

During the visit, local residents and farmers met the minister and highlighted their concerns.

Farmers expressed confidence that improved irrigation facilities would increase agricultural production in the region.

Several senior officials, irrigation department engineers, public representatives, party leaders and local residents attended the inspection programme.

The minister reiterated that the government aimed to complete the Yathalakunta tunnel construction project at the earliest and make it operational for public benefit.
