Tummala promises to eliminate ganja and end encroachments in Khammam

Hyderabad: Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said the government would eliminate ganja and encroachments in Khammam, stating that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy was approving all requirements for the district’s development. He made the remarks on Thursday after he laid the foundation stone for CC road construction works in Khammam city.

Addressing party leaders and residents, Tummala said voters had urged him during the elections to keep land grabbers, troublemakers and ganja gangs away from Khammam. He said he gave a firm assurance to stop ganja sales and remove encroachments. He added that the government had already started acting firmly on those commitments.

Recalling earlier years, Tummala said authorities had booked several cases against Congress leaders. However, he assured party workers that he would stand by each of them. He expressed concern over ganja sales near schools and colleges and said officials were taking strict action against those involved.

Ganja and encroachments in Khammam will not be tolerated

Tummala said he would take up any work that benefited the public. He pointed out that more than five lakh people lived in Khammam town and required continuous civic development. Therefore, he urged leaders to actively pursue development works, warning that inaction would distance them from the public.

The minister said voters would never support those who sold ganja or grabbed land. He stressed that the government was implementing development and welfare programmes beyond party lines. According to him, the administration would focus on public trust rather than political considerations while eliminating ganja and encroachments in Khammam.
