Hyderabad: Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Saturday declared that transforming education remains a central mission of the Telangana government.
Speaking at the JNTUH Global Alumni Meet – 2025 in Kukatpally, Sridhar Babu said the state is focused on skilling, re-skilling, and up-skilling. This is to develop future-ready youth for global opportunities.
The Minister emphasised that Telangana is investing in both education and healthcare. Meanwhile, it is also building an ecosystem geared towards emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and cybersecurity.
He announced that the Telangana AI Innovation Hub, created with international collaboration, will be launched soon. This aims to boost AI-based research and innovation.
Encouraging students and alumni to stay connected to their roots, Sridhar Babu said, “No matter how high we rise, we must never forget where we come from. Giving back to society is a responsibility that comes with gratitude.”
He added that individuals empowered by sincere duty are better positioned to demand accountability and progress.
Calling on the JNTUH alumni network, the Minister urged them to lead initiatives for setting up a Centre of Excellence in AI, quantum computing, and cybersecurity. He also proposed establishing research clusters and international mentorship networks. Additionally, innovation funding platforms and a Global Alumni Council were recommended. The state government, he assured, will fully support these efforts.
Addressing engineering students, Sridhar Babu encouraged them to become job creators rather than job seekers. He highlighted the need for practical exposure and problem-solving skills as drivers of innovation-led development.
