Hyderabad: A traffic police constable died on duty after a DCM vehicle hit him in a tragic Rajendranagar traffic accident on Tuesday. The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision, police said.
The victim, Abdul Sattar, served as a traffic constable in the Rajendranagar area. The incident occurred near Pillar Number 191, opposite the Skoda showroom on the Rajendranagar–Upparapalli road.
Two others injured in Upparapalli junction crash
Officials said the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck Abdul Sattar as he managed traffic at the Upparapalli junction during the Rajendranagar traffic accident. The DCM also hit two others, including another traffic policeman. Emergency responders moved the injured to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed they were in stable condition.
Senior Hyderabad Traffic Police officers reached the site soon after the crash and began an investigation. Authorities sent Abdul Sattar’s body for post-mortem as per procedure.
Police intensify search for absconding driver
The accident briefly disrupted traffic at the busy junction, which handles large volumes of goods transport daily. Rescue teams cleared the vehicle quickly to restore normal flow after the Rajendranagar traffic accident.
Meanwhile, police registered a case and launched a manhunt for the absconding DCM driver involved in the Rajendranagar traffic accident. Further investigation is underway.
