Hyderabad: TGSRTC on Wednesday announced a major expansion of its city services under a new initiative titled ‘Hyderabad Connect’, which aims to bring bus connectivity to 373 newly developed residential colonies in the Hyderabad and Secunderabad regions.
In a statement, the corporation said these services will begin operating from December. The decision was taken during a recent high-level review meeting chaired by TGSRTC Managing Director Y. Nagireddy.
Services to benefit IT hubs and outer circles
The Hyderabad Connect plan focuses on easing commutes for office-goers, especially those working in IT hubs like Hitech City, Gachibowli, Financial District, and Uppal. Buses will operate directly from residential colonies to these employment zones.
Officials conducted field visits across 30 circles and 150 wards on the city’s outskirts to assess transportation needs. Based on these findings, routes were finalized.
TGSRTC said the rollout will happen in three phases. Of the total 373 colonies identified, 243 fall under the Hyderabad region, while 130 are located in the Secunderabad region.
