Hyderabad: Farmer ID registration began in villages across the state on September 22 under a special Agriculture Department programme. The registration drive will continue until the 30th of this month.
The Agriculture Department has opened another opportunity for farmers who have not yet registered with the Farmer Registry. The programme aims to provide transparent access to agricultural welfare schemes, subsidies, concessions and other services.
Through Agristock, the Farmer Registry is creating a unique Farmer ID for every farmer who completes the registration process. The system links a farmer’s identity with land details on a digital platform.
According to the department, the Farmer Registry will support the digital implementation of agricultural schemes offered by both central and state governments. Farmers who have already completed registration have also been advised to check and preserve their Farmer ID.
Agriculture Extension Officers, or AEOs, will be available in villages during the special registration programme. Farmers who have not registered can approach the AEOs with the documents and details required for registration.
Farmers need to carry their Aadhaar card and Patta passbook for the process. They must also provide a mobile number linked to their Aadhaar for authentication.
The department has urged eligible farmers to use the special registration opportunity. The initiative is intended to bring more farmers into the digital Farmer Registry and connect their records with agricultural services.
Farmers who have already completed Farmer ID registration through Aadhaar-OTP authentication can check their ID online. They can use the Farmer Registry Portal to verify their registration details.
Farmer ID registration supports digital access to schemes
Registered farmers can check their Farmer ID by entering their Aadhaar number on the Farmer Registry Portal. The system then sends an OTP to the mobile number linked with the Aadhaar number.
After entering the OTP, farmers can access their Farmer ID details online. This process allows farmers who have already registered to verify their records without undergoing registration again.
Meanwhile, the Agriculture Department has advised farmers to preserve their Farmer ID after completing registration. The department said the ID will be useful for accessing government agricultural schemes in the future.
The Farmer Registry is intended to provide a common digital record linking farmer identity and land information. It will also support the delivery of agricultural welfare measures through digital services.
Farmers who remain outside the registry have been given the current registration window to complete the process. They can contact the AEOs available in their villages during the programme.
The special drive will continue through September 30. Therefore, farmers who have not completed registration can use the period to submit their details and complete the required authentication.
The Agriculture Department has again asked registered farmers to know and preserve their Farmer ID. The department expects the digital identification system to support access to central and state government agricultural services.
The programme therefore covers both new registrations and verification of existing Farmer IDs. Farmers already registered through Aadhaar-OTP can check their details online, while unregistered farmers can approach village-level AEOs.
The department has stressed the importance of keeping the Farmer ID safely for future use. The ID will serve as the farmer’s digital identification for accessing eligible agricultural schemes and services.
