Telangana’s Bharosa Centres offer crucial support, police reiterate in fresh appeal

Hyderabad: The Telangana Police on Friday renewed their appeal to abuse survivors via social media, highlighting the role of Bharosa Centres as a secure and supportive environment for women and children experiencing violence or harassment.

In a tweet shared earlier in the day, the police emphasised that “no one deserves to suffer in silence,” encouraging victims and witnesses to step forward. The message underlines the accessibility of Bharosa Centres, which provide free legal aid, medical treatment, and psychological counselling, all coordinated through a single, victim-friendly location.

These centres have been established to ensure swift, integrated support to those facing domestic violence or sexual abuse, particularly women and minors. Operated under the aegis of the Telangana Police, they aim to reduce the trauma of survivors by streamlining the help process.

The tweet also reminded the public of the 181 toll-free women’s helpline, which offers round-the-clock assistance. Officials reiterated that even a single call can begin the path to safety and justice.

The renewed outreach comes as part of an ongoing awareness drive aimed at reinforcing public trust in the state’s victim support infrastructure.
