Telangana people yearn for change, says Kishan Reddy at press meet

Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy on Monday said the people of Telangana were yearning for political change and asserted that only the BJP could deliver development in the state. He pointed to recent Parliament and MLC election results as indicators of rising support for his party.

Speaking at a press conference, Reddy accused the Congress government of failing to implement key poll promises. These included monthly aid of ₹2,500 for women, unemployment allowances, and increasing pensions to ₹4,000. He said even existing pension disbursements were inconsistent and asked whether such a party deserved public trust in the upcoming municipal elections.

Telangana people yearn for change, says Kishan Reddy as he slams BRS and Congress

Launching a strong attack on the BRS, Reddy said the party was plagued by internal power struggles. He claimed the BRS had no political future and had weakened structurally under its current leadership.

He also criticised both Congress and BRS for their handling of Singareni Collieries. According to Reddy, poor governance had driven the public sector mining firm into financial stress. He alleged irregularities in tenders and financial decisions under the state government’s watch. The Minister said he would raise these concerns directly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Calling Singareni a “golden goose,” Reddy emphasised its role in supporting lakhs of families across multiple districts. He criticised the state for pledging ₹500 crore in loans using Singareni as collateral. He also said the government had failed to spend District Mineral Foundation (DMF) funds effectively.

If voted to power in Telangana, the BJP would focus on expanding infrastructure in mining regions, increasing central institutions, and revising DMF guidelines for better outcomes, Reddy assured.
