Minister Ponnam said he regretted his earlier comments, stating, “I apologise to Laxman for the remarks that hurt him. I personally conveyed my apology to him. I grew up in Karimnagar alongside the Madiga community.” His statement marked the first public admission of fault since the controversy began.
The conflict erupted after reports claimed that Ponnam had made objectionable remarks about Adluri during a recent meeting. As tensions escalated, PCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud intervened to restore unity among the ministers. He convened a breakfast meeting at his residence on Tuesday morning, attended by both Ponnam and Adluri. During the meeting, Goud urged the ministers to work in coordination for the party’s progress.
Following Goud’s mediation, Ponnam extended a formal apology to Adluri, which the latter accepted, bringing the dispute to a close. Party sources said the ministers agreed to move forward in harmony to maintain cabinet unity.
