Telangana Legislative Council adjourned to January 2

Hyderabad: The Telangana Legislative Council was adjourned to January 2, 2026. Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy announced the decision during the sitting held on December 29, 2025.

The chairman said the council sittings scheduled for December 30 and 31, and January 1, were postponed due to the year-end period. As a result, the next sitting of the Telangana Legislative Council will now be held on January 2.

The council meeting began at 10.30 am on Monday. During the session, members paid tributes. They expressed condolences over the demise of former MLCs Madhavaram Jagapathi Rao and Ahmed Peer Shabbir.

After the condolence resolutions were taken up in the House, the chairman formally adjourned the Council. No other legislative business was conducted during the brief sitting, officials said.

The adjournment marked the conclusion of council proceedings for the year. Legislative work is set to resume in the new year.
