Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi recorded notable gains in the recent panchayat elections. Five sarpanch candidates backed by the organisation won their contests. The victories strengthened Telangana Jagruthi across several mandals and signalled growing grassroots influence.
In Nizamabad district, Shankar secured the sarpanch post in Thadi Biloli of Renjal mandal with Jagruthi’s support. The organisation also backed winners in Minar Palli Thara of Bodhan, Viranna Gutta Tanda of Renjal, Rampur of Navipet and Renjal village, where Tirupati Lalitha Hanumanthu won.
Telangana Jagruthi gains traction amid Kavitha’s renewed focus
Kavitha intensified activities under Telangana Jagruthi after distancing herself from the BRS. She launched the platform in 2006 and strengthened it through cultural programmes. Her recent statewide engagements indicate a sharper organisational focus.
Political circles now speculate that she may convert Telangana Jagruthi into a political party. Discussions have gained momentum, though no formal announcement has been made.
