Hyderabad: Officials would complete all Telangana Global Summit works at the Skill University campus in Future City by October 31, Energy and Mines Minister G. Vivek Venkataswamy said on Tuesday.
The Skill University campus would host the Telangana Rising – Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026. Officials were making the arrangements in line with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s vision, the minister said.
Vivek reviewed the ongoing works with officials and contractors. During the review, he examined material procurement, manpower deployment and overall progress before finalising the schedule.
“I held a detailed review meeting with officials and contractors on the ongoing works at the university for the summit. After examining material procurement, manpower deployment and overall progress, we have finalised the schedule,” he said.
The minister said officials would complete roads, drainage systems and other required infrastructure by October 31. They would then hand over the facilities to the summit team.
Moreover, Vivek said officials were completing the works ahead of schedule. This would give the event management team sufficient time to prepare before the summit. “We are completing the works ahead of schedule so that the event management team gets sufficient time before the summit begins,” he said.
Telangana Global Summit works include seminar halls
As part of the Telangana Global Summit works, officials were preparing six seminar halls, three large halls and 10 smaller halls. The summit would use these facilities for various meetings, seminars and programmes. However, the infrastructure would continue to serve the Skill University after the event.
Once the summit concluded, officials would hand over the buildings and other facilities to the university. The government was developing the Skill University across 54 acres to international standards. Therefore, Vivek said officials were considering the university’s future requirements while carrying out the summit works.
Meanwhile, workers were constructing separate hostels for boys and girls and a dining hall. The minister said the government was taking steps to accelerate these projects. The government planned to launch operations at the Skill University by February 2027.
“The works taken up for the summit are being executed systematically keeping the university’s future needs in mind,” Vivek said. In addition, he said the government was expediting the hostels, dining hall and other essential facilities. These efforts would help the Skill University begin operations by February.
