Hyderabad: Information Technology and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Friday said the Telangana government planned to introduce a Digital Assembly and a Digital Council to modernise governance through technology.
Inaugurating the AI Transformation Conclave (Telangana), jointly organised by GOVconnect and Electronic Service Delivery (MeeSeva) at ITC Kakatiya, the Minister said the government was using artificial intelligence, blockchain, data analytics and quantum computing to improve governance. Moreover, he said these technologies would strengthen public service delivery.
He said the government also planned to introduce blockchain-based certificates to improve the security and authenticity of citizens’ data. Further, he said the initiative would enhance trust in digital records.
Digital Assembly to strengthen e-governance
Sridhar Babu said the government was expanding high-speed digital connectivity to rural areas through T-Fiber. Meanwhile, he said officials were working to deliver government services at the doorstep of senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
He said the government was implementing paperless administration across departments under the Digital Office Project. In addition, he said governance must evolve with technology to become more efficient, transparent and citizen-centric.
The Minister said Telangana had already introduced a Digital Cabinet, a real-time government dashboard integrating 20 departments, the country’s first AI-powered data exchange, WhatsApp-based citizen services and the Mee Ticket platform. Finally, he said the State would continue expanding digital governance initiatives.
