Hyderabad: The Telangana Udyamakarula Forum (Telangana Activists Forum) on Sunday urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to fulfill all promises made to movement activists and demanded that he issue a statement in the upcoming Assembly session.
Addressing a press conference at the NSS Media Center, forum leaders announced a series of protests, including relay hunger strikes starting January 4 in Alwal, until the government begins implementing its assurances.
Forum seeks welfare board, identity cards, and budget support
The forum also appealed to BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to question the Congress government in the Assembly over the delay. Leaders further urged BJP, MIM, and CPI legislators to raise the issue on behalf of activists who participated in the Telangana statehood movement.
Key demands include the immediate formation of a dedicated committee to identify Telangana movement participants and issue official ID cards. The forum also called for the establishment of a Telangana Movement Activists Welfare Board and the allocation of ₹10,000 crore for their welfare.
In addition, the leaders demanded the creation of an Artists’ Welfare Board to support cultural contributors who played a role during the agitation.
Present at the press meet were Forum Chairman Dr. Cheema Srinivas, General Secretary Patlola Surender Reddy, and members Konda Swamy, G. Dayanand, B. Jagan Yadav, Kontham Veeraswamy, K. Rambabu, Gala Bhaskar, and Vengala Bhaskar.
