Hyderabad: Telangana has secured a ₹175 crore incentive from the Centre after completing the first milestone under the AgriStack fertiliser system.
The incentive followed the State’s completion of the first milestone in the AgriStack-based fertiliser distribution system. The initiative aims to make fertiliser distribution more transparent and efficient.
On August 31, 2026, the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare issued the approval. After examining Telangana’s proposal, the Ministry said the State had met the prescribed criteria and guidelines.
As a result, the Centre declared Telangana eligible for the ₹175 crore incentive under SASCI 2026-27.
AgriStack fertiliser system qualifies for SASCI support
The Centre will provide the incentive under Part-VII of the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment scheme. This component covers Digital Public Infrastructure for Agriculture and AgriStack.
Under the component, the Union government allocated ₹13,000 crore. Of that amount, ₹10,000 crore was earmarked for AgriStack-enabled priority use cases.
Furthermore, the Centre set aside ₹5,000 crore specifically for the AgriStack-based fertiliser distribution system.
Telangana had already received ₹424 crore from the Centre after successfully completing the Farmer Registry. Now, the State will receive another ₹175 crore after achieving the first fertiliser-system milestone.
Therefore, the two incentives together amount to ₹599 crore in Centre support for Telangana’s AgriStack-related implementation.
Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao welcomed the latest incentive in a statement on Monday. He said AgriStack would digitally integrate farmers’ details, landholdings, crops and fertiliser distribution data.
In addition, the platform would integrate other related information. According to the Minister, this would help government schemes and benefits reach genuine farmers faster and more transparently.
Digital agriculture platform to improve monitoring
Tummala said the AgriStack fertiliser system would strengthen monitoring of fertiliser distribution. At the same time, it would improve transparency in the delivery process.
The Minister said the successive incentives from the Centre reflected the progress Telangana had made in digital agriculture.
Moreover, he said the State was working towards becoming a national leader in digital agriculture. The latest incentive followed the Centre’s assessment of Telangana’s compliance with the prescribed requirements.
The approval covers the first milestone achieved by Telangana under the AgriStack-based fertiliser distribution system. Accordingly, the ₹175 crore incentive will come under SASCI 2026-27.
