Hyderabad: GST Intelligence officials arrested Sunil Kumar, Managing Director of Orange Travels and a Telangana Congress leader, in a GST tax evasion case involving nearly ₹28 crore.
Officials took he is into custody on Wednesday morning. They later produced him before a Nampally court. GST Intelligence officers said their probe found large-scale tax evasion linked to his business operations.
Authorities detected the violations during a statewide drive against GST evasion. During inspections, officials found serious discrepancies in filings related to Sunil Kumar. Following this, officers proceeded with his arrest.

he had contested the last Assembly elections from Balkonda as a Congress candidate. He lost the election to BRS candidate Vemula Prashanth Reddy.

Officials added that the investigation into Sunil Kumar’s financial dealings was continuing. Further action would depend on documentary and digital evidence.
