Srijana launches smart CCTV system to curb garbage dumping in Moosapet

Hyderabad: Commissioner Dr G. Srijana launched a new system to curb garbage dumping in Moosapet as part of efforts to improve sanitation.

She conducted a field inspection in Moosapet Circle and reviewed conditions at key locations. During the visit, she inaugurated a smart monitoring system at a chronic garbage dumping point on HP Road.

The system uses CCTV cameras integrated with a caution mechanism. Moreover, it allows sanitation officials to monitor the area in real time through a mobile application.

Garbage dumping control system introduced under 99-day plan

The setup includes motion sensors that trigger automated announcements to deter illegal dumping. In addition, officials said the system aims to ensure sustained cleanliness in vulnerable areas.

The initiative forms part of the Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika (99-day action plan). At the same time, it focuses on strengthening waste management practices across Cyberabad.

Srijana also interacted with sanitation staff during the inspection. Furthermore, she directed officials to replicate the model at other garbage vulnerable points.

Officials said the initiative marks a proactive step towards cleaner urban spaces and improved civic management.
