HYDERABAD: IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu on Wednesday responded to a video posted by senior IAS officer Sameer Sharma concerning the Gachibowli land issue, stating that appropriate legal action would be taken regarding the post.
Speaking informally to the media, the Minister said that sightings of peacocks in urban areas were not unusual. He alleged that the BJP and BRS were jointly attempting to tarnish the Congress government’s image by circulating fake videos. He claimed that the video in question was fabricated and deliberately disseminated to mislead the public.
Sridhar Babu also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making remarks about Hyderabad Central University land based on what he termed as incorrect inputs provided by BJP leaders in the State. He said that there was a coordinated conspiracy to destabilise the Congress government but asserted that it remained stable and would not fall prey to such tactics.
He expressed concern that fake videos and doctored images were damaging the credibility of public institutions. Referring to the Gachibowli land issue, the Minister said the matter was sub judice, and therefore, no detailed comment could be made at this time. However, he emphasised that the government would fully comply with the Supreme Court’s directives.
He pointed out that the Supreme Court had already clarified that the Gachibowli land belonged to the government.
